Stephen Haynes
Board Member
Mr. Haynes is a founder, Managing Director, and a member of the board of Glengary Ventures, LLC, and is responsible for managing the investment decisions of Glengary and its day-to-day operations. Prior to Glengary, Mr. Haynes was a General Partner of Key Equity Capital (KEC), a partnership with KeyCorp Bank, where his emphasis was on providing equity capital to growth companies and in leveraged buyout transactions with equity commitments ranging from one million to over $20 million per transaction. In addition to serving on the boards of KEC portfolio companies, Mr. Haynes served on the Advisory Boards of Kirtland Capital (Cleveland) and Healthcare Equity Partners (Chicago).
From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Haynes served in the Corporate Finance Department of McDonald & Company Securities, Inc., most recently as Senior Vice President. Mr. Haynes was involved in all areas of corporate finance, including public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures. Mr. Haynes served as investment banker for many regional growth companies, most notably STERIS Corporation, AcroMed Corporation and OfficeMax, among others. In his role as President of McDonald & Company Venture Capital, Inc., he managed the private equity investments of McDonald & Company.
From 1984 to 1987, Mr. Haynes was a member of the Small Business Consulting Group of Price Waterhouse where he founded the Cleveland office transaction support group focused on capital formation for growth companies, and due diligence and other support services for corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Haynes has been actively involved with the Association for Corporate Growth and the Ohio Venture Association. Currently, he is a member of the NorTech Early-Stage Task Force and a frequent speaker on the topic of capital formation and venture capital in Northeast Ohio.
Mr. Haynes received his B.S. in Accountancy from Miami University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Barry Harbour
Board Member
Mr. Harbour is co-founder and managing partner of Apex Partners, LLC, a boutique investment banking firm with offices in Baltimore, Charlotte, Cleveland, Fort Lauderdale and Philadelphia.
Prior to the formation of Apex, Mr. Harbour served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Encompass Services Corporation and its predecessor Group Maintenance America Corp. (GroupMAC), a consolidator of facility based service and specialty contracting businesses. As a member of the original management team, Mr. Harbour was vital to the early success of the firm, which completed over eighty acquisitions during his tenure and grew from a private start-up to a $4 billion public company, achieving Fortune 500 status and becoming the largest provider of facility-based services and solutions in the United States. Mr. Harbour began his professional career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen and managed international finance and corporate development activities for Federal Express Corporation and Blockbuster Entertainment prior to joining GroupMAC.
Mr. Harbour earned a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi and attended business school at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.
Charles Witz
Board Member
Mr. Witz with over 30 years experience in the electrical contracting industry is currently the Chief Operating Officer for a large Midwest electrical contractor.
Mr. Witz, began his career with Continental Electric, a family business that was founded in 1901. He began working during the summers and then as a field apprentice. He moved into the office as the Assistant Secretary over accounts receivables and credit. He later served as Vice President, President and Chief Executive Officer for this organization. As a third generation company officer, Mr. Witz helped grow the family enterprise into a $125 million operation. In 1998, Continental Electric was acquired by Group Maintenance Company, a publicly traded company with $1.5 billion in annual sales.
Through out most of his career, Chuck was involved in the leadership of an industry peer group. The peer groups mission was to continuously evaluate like companies for operational and service issues. It is this experience combined with his many years in contracting that allows him to be a great asset to our organization.
A native of Chicago, Mr. Witz graduated from Denver University with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
David Witz
Board Member
Mr. Witz is currently President of Continental Electric Construction Company (CECC). He has been at the forefront of leadership as the Company experienced being a part of a publicly held organization for four years and later during its transition back to being a privately held company. Through leadership, tenacity and dedication Mr. Witz continues to grow the company even through the most recent economic downturn and maintain CECC and its six hundred plus employees as the premier electrical company serving the greater Chicago area.
Mr. Witz attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Colorado and began as a Journeyman Electrician in 1990 at Continental Electric. As the fourth generation of this family owned business he started at the beginning working his way through the ranks of the company to become a licensed electrician and member of IBEW #134 and on to his current title. Knowledge and experience gained during this time while handling the complexities of a Project Manager enabled Mr. Witz to use his skills in the development of a computerized estimating system.
By 1997 Mr. Witz performed the duties of Vice President of Operations and began to set the company vision in regards to MIS. He implemented a number of new initiatives one of which lead to the merger of the business with GroupMAC which later became Encompass.
In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree, Mr. Witz holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He serves as Trustee to the David C. Weber Foundation, a charitable foundation benefiting high school students seeking aid for foreign studies.
Mr Witz is also an Executive Board member of the Electrical Contracts Association of Chicago and a member of YPO in Chicago. Being a native of Chicago he is proud to call it home.
