conditioned based maintenance services:
infrared inspection
Are your operations overheating to the point of failure?
Infrared inspections have proven to be an effective part of an overall conditioned based maintenance program after many years in use and numerous studies. Facility and operation managers continue to rely on this proven, cost-effective means of non-destructive testing to keep their electrical and mechanical equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Infrared inspections reveal if equipment is functioning within normal operating parameters based on manufacturer's or UL specifications. An infrared inspection uses an infrared camera that measures thermal energy being emitted from a given object. However, an infrared image alone without accurate temperature and load measurements can be misleading about the actual condition of the component. That's why Predictive Service uses certified Thermographers, combined with our patented field software, ViewPoint®, to capture both the visual and infrared signatures along with other pertinent information from the object being inspected. ViewPoint then analyzes the infrared inspection data to determine the overall health of the equipment.
Tmax Corrected
Additionally, Predictive Service has a patented formulation called Tmax Corrected. This process virtually eliminates the need for finding a reference temperature of a suspected flawed product or issue. This patented formulation is created from actual equipment manufacturer's operational heat curves at various load and/or operating conditions. By combining a manufacturer's heat curve information with the other field-gathered information (such as ambient temperature and load), Predictive Service can accurately and consistently analyze the equipment. If an anomaly exists, Predictive Service can accurately forecast the severity at various load or operating conditions.
Predictive Service's infrared inspection process also benchmarks and tracks year-over-year statistics for each piece of equipment inspected. Within this infrared inspection information, you can monitor an individual component's status, repair activities, amp or load conditions, and review both visual and infrared documentation.
Today, no one would argue the proven effectiveness of infrared inspection to quickly, accurately and safely locate problems prior to equipment failure.
