conditioned based maintenance services:
motor circuit evaluation (MCE)

Do you know the health of your motors and circuits?

Motor asset management, inventory levels, in service failures, overhauls, repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance are an area of concerns for most facility managers and maintenance professionals. As a part of a formal PdM service, Motor Circuit Evaluation (MCE) testing can provide insight to current operating conditions and allow for prediction of impending failures.

Motor circuit evaluation testing provides both static and online (dynamic) testing of the motor and circuitry to determine the health and identify any potential operational concerns.

A motor circuit evaluation program samples motors and circuits at regular intervals taking into consideration the criticality of the component and likelihood for failure. Trained technicians from Predictive Service can provide the onsite testing in conjunction with other PdM Services, such as an infrared inspection to minimize the effect on scheduling and on equipment operations. Typical motor circuit tests available include:

  • Resistance to ground
  • Capacitance to ground
  • Phase resistance
  • Phase inductance
  • Current Analysis
  • Power Quality
  • Voltage unbalance
  • Total harmonic distortion
  • Crest factor

As with all of Predictive Service's PdM services, the information is accessed through a highly secured web portal via our data management software, ViewPoint®. To find out how Predictive Service can help you develop an effective single or multi-disciplined condition based maintenance program for your organization please contact a Corporate Development representative toll free at (866) 772-6770.
