Web-based data management software provides consistent infrared analysis worldwide

CLEVELAND, OHIO – April 20, 2006 - Predictive Service has expanded its infrared inspection solution to serve facilities in Central and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, and offers several unique advantages for its multinational clients. Clients benefit from standardized data collection, accessible web-based reporting and management, patented return-on-investment and problem severity calculations, and detailed equipment baselines.

Predictive Service provides standardized data collection through a combination of technician training and certification, high equipment standards, and the use of sophisticated data collection software. Each of the nearly 50 technicians working for Predictive Service must be trained and certified by Predictive, demonstrating knowledge and experience with infrared, electrical systems and safety, and the use of technology tools. These technicians are disbursed around the world, allowing Predictive Service to offer cost-effective programs, often with no additional travel fees. Predictive Service’s data collection software contains comprehensive collections of equipment, components, manufacturers, and component-specific problem definitions and repair recommendations. The software guides the technician through a series of intelligent database choices that assist in quickly, accurately and consistently identifying problems and solutions for the client.

An additional feature of the software is the unique, patented calculations for determining problem severity. The traditional industry standard is to identify a reference temperature at which a normal component under a similar load should be operating. This is time-consuming, if done properly, and extremely subjective and dependent upon the care and skill of the technician. The Predictive Service software contains rated temperature calculations for all of the components in the database, and using the patented calculation, can determine what the maximum temperature should be for any component at any specified load. This calculation assures consistency and accuracy across thousands of components for the several thousand inspections Predictive Service performs each year.

Predictive Service provides clients with detailed equipment baselines during the inspection. In addition to identifying problems, Predictive will image and document the details of every piece of equipment inspected. Rather than receiving an obscure list of items, clients can see exactly what the technician saw when the equipment was inspected. Equipment details such as manufacturer, model, rating, voltage, and more are recorded, and provide clients with useful statistics about the serviceability of various components in their inventory. Specific component history can be tracked over several inspections, and problematic components can be easily identified for remedial action.

Predictive Service’s unique, web-based inspection management system allows managers in multinational organizations to access their inspection results online, from anywhere in the world, and document repair actions planned or completed. The flexible organizational hierarchy allows each client to organize their facilities into divisions, regions, zones, etc. and match their own organizations structure. Managers at each level of organization from site to corporate can be granted access rights to only that part of the organization for which they are accountable. Timely reminder emails are automatically generated if repairs are not completed within the client’s specified timeframe.

Finally, Predictive Service’s patented cost-benefit calculations allow clients to identify the payback of various repair options, and the energy savings resulting from the repairs. This tool allows managers to set repair priorities, and justify the financial value of a program that has many non-financial or difficult to measure benefits as well: reduced downtime and equipment failure, improved fire safety, and improved life safety.
