SEAM Group's Update to Clients Regarding COVID-19
It has been 8 weeks since the first US State established a Stay-at-Home order in response to the Coronavirus crisis, and 10 weeks or more in Europe and parts of Asia. In that time the world has changed in many ways, some perhaps for the long-term good, some far less so. The human suffering and loss is deeply saddening - the wider ramifications for our lives, our economies, and our work are something we are just starting to comprehend.
I am a great believer that we all function best when we focus our energy on what we can control. That is something the entire SEAM Group team has been doing these last several weeks. We have sought to stay focused on our clients, our people, and our shared values for safety. That started with ensuring we continue to support our clients and their operations by providing resources and expertise to help them ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of their assets and facilities. Doing so has meant adopting new ways of working, new protocols to ensure the health and safety of our staff and our clients, innovative tools to support remote working, and deliver our technical services virtually. Learning to adapt, modify, and course correct is at the heart of any good business, and COVID-19 has certainly provided an opportunity to test our collective resilience!
I am proud to say that the SEAM Group family has stepped up in ways that make it an honor to serve them. We retain our ever-present focus on customer service, being responsive to customer needs for flexibility and creativity, doing whatever we can to help clients be safe and operational during these testing times. We have been investing our energies in services that are especially meaningful at this time. For example, we know many clients have facilities or assets that are not currently operational. This creates a unique opportunity to undertake electrical and mechanical inspections on panels and equipment that would usually be hard to access. Similarly, it is an ideal time to install IR windows, which can have a significant impact on safety, equipment reliability, and performance in the future. Our Training Services team has significantly upgraded its abilities to deliver live Virtual Classroom learning. SEAM Group has also developed a ‘facility opening’ checklist to help clients think about the issues involved in reopening/restarting facilities and ensuring a safe and controlled reopening. Our field personnel have also been adhering to self-reporting, temperature monitoring, physical distancing, and the use of PPE in order to mitigate their and others’ Coronavirus exposure. And finally, we have recently established the ability to source and install non-contact thermographic temperature screening for client facilities, which will inevitably become part of the new norm in work and travel.
We know these are challenging times for all of us and we remain committed to doing all we can to support you, safely, as we collectively learn how to run our operations successfully and with confidence in this new environment.
